The J. G. Dennis

 

Sch. J. G. Dennis sailed from this port for Georges, March 15th, 1864 with a crew of ten men, as follows:

Andrew D. Bartlett, master of Southport, Me.
Joel W. Bartlett, his brother
Wilbur F. Dunton, Southport
Franklin Fowle, Southport
Amos Stinson, Deer Island, Me.
Stillman Spiney
Thomas McDonald
Andrew Snyder
Daniel Holly, leaves a widow
James Rogers, leaves widow and three children

The J. G. Dennis was 82 tons burthen, built at Salem in 1859, and owned by Messrs. Shute & Merchant. She was valued with her outfits, at $5500, and insured at the Gloucester Mutual Fishing Ins. Office for $4500.
