owned by Leighton & Co. and Capt. William H. Greenleaf, capsized and sunk on
passage to Grand Bank, April 8, 1876. Value, $10,000; insurance, $8,000.
The captain and four of the crew were subsequently picked up in a dory, but the following
were lost:

The four first named were drowned in their berths, the
last-mentioned died of exposure in the dory which was picked up, and the others were never
heard from after the dories parted company the evening after the disaster. |
