Sch. Robert Emmett left
port for LaHave, Nov. 25th, touching at Eastport, Me, for bait. she left there Dec. 8th
since which time she has not been heard of.
She had a crew of nine men, as follows:
Joseph Grey, of Gloucester,
master, leaves a widow and two children
John F. Saunders, of Gloucester, leaves a widow and seven children, four
of them under age
Seth S. Colby, of Gloucester, leaves a widow and three children
Samuel Spinney, of Argyle, Nova Scotia
Alex Boyd, of Nova Scotia
Edward Dodge, of Nova Scotia
Samuel Tyng, of Nova Scotia
William Michaels, of Nova Scotia
Thomas Tarreo, of Nova Scotia
The native Nova Scotians have followed fishing
from this city several years. The vessel was owned by Mr. Charles Parkhurst, was 45.25
tons, valued at $4500, no insurance. |
